Victor Ponta, again in the role of Trojan Horse -

Victor Ponta's endeavor to lay in wait, throw a monkey wrench in the
works and exploit PSD's failures in order to take over the party
becomes increasingly obvious. I have revealed this scenario at the
moment when, just like that, without support from any party, Victor
Ponta painted himself as sovereigntist, lowered his social-democrat
mask and announced his candidacy in the presidential elections rerun.
He concealed his true intentions to the bitter end, but now the
conspiracy unraveled.

It was obvious that Victor Ponta, in spite of being backed by the
recently revived Ghita-Coldea team, had poor odds of qualifying for
the second run, and would not win the presidential elections. Many
chased the illusion, including some of my friends, and even true
sovereigntists were fooled by the dyed-in-the-wool sovereigntist. In
the end, the truth came out. Indeed, Victor Ponta had not a chance
to get in the second round. However, entering the race enjoying the
backing of a certain television station and with other TV stations
flirting with him, with the support of the underground structures of
the shadow state, and also of former colleagues from PSD, he managed
to break away enough votes from the social-democrat electorate so
that Crin Antonescu would not qualify to enter the second round.
Moreover, by fooling some sovereigntists, he undermined George
Simion's clout a bit.

The Moor did his duty in the frauded elections that just ended, but
they won't let his character die. He continues to function in the
position of Trojan Horse, with a new mission. As forecast, like I
predicted in my analysis, Marcel Ciolacu would resign in any given
situation. One alternative would have been for him to resign after
he ensured the victory of the coalition candidate Crin Antonescu,
and another for him to leave the arena under his shield, not carried
over the shield. Under the present conditions, the jacals vie to take
contol of the party. And one of the fiercest jacals of this kind is
Victor Ponta, who is changing faces again - never the uniform - and
becomes, Good Lord, a social-democrat. Stirring up the spirits, he
announces loud and clear that he intends to gain the presidency of
the party with the largest electoral overreach, a party he abandoned
and betrayed in the past. In the same way as, afterward, he proceeded
to do with Calin Popescu-Tariceanu in the alliance he lured him in.

Again, Victor Ponta lies. He knows very well he won't be able to
achieve his announced intentions. But he functions in the role of a
Trojan Horse. His real intents, dictated by Florian Coldea's group
and other kinds of irresponsible individuals with active or reserve
status at the External Information Service, of which Ponta himself
was part in the past or still remains part as an undercover officer,
are in fact to weaken the ranks of the social-democrats enough, so
that he gets a voice in designating the future team of the party's
leadership or, even better, to break up the party and form a group
politically aligned with the ruling powers next to Nicusor Dan, whom
he helped indirectly or even overtly, while pretending the opposite.

How pitful that this political creature, treacerous in nature,
continues to arrange all kinds of suspect combinations that only
leave disgust left and right, and can play a role in the ailing
Romanian political environment.
